About the Slack integration and security

Admins can enable the Slack integration for their organization. The Slack integration informs your team about changes and updates in Abstract.

When you authorize the Abstract integration for Slack, the Abstract app can:

  • View basic information about users in your Slack workspace.
  • View basic information about public channels in your Slack workspace.
  • View basic information about private channels the Abstract app has been added to.
  • Send messages as Abstract to public and private channels in your Slack workspace.
  • Add the ability for people to direct message or mention @abstract in your channels.

Read more about the Abstract app's permissions, security, and compliance in the Slack app directory.
