Backing Up your Work in Abstract

Abstract stores copies of your working files locally in a temporary location (~/Library/Application Support/Abstract/Documents/com.bohemiancoding.sketch3/Edits) on your computer.

Note: you may need to use Spotlight to open this file as it is typically hidden.

Each time you commit, your changes sync to both our servers and to your teammates’ computers. We also back everything up automatically on our servers. We run all of our infrastructure through Amazon Web Services (AWS), US East.

Having a copy of your files stored locally allows you to work offline whenever you like. This also prevents you from losing work if you go offline unexpectedly.

Moving or altering your files from the Applications Support folder could cause problems when you use Abstract.

Because of this, backing up your Abstract files is as simple as backing up your computer as you normally would using an external hard drive or cloud service (e.g. Dropbox or Google Drive).

Make sure you include the Application Support folder on your Mac when backing up.

Alternatively, you can export your files before backing them up.
