Approve or request changes

After you review a notebook, you can approve the work or request that the author make changes. Collaborators in a notebook can manage and respond to reviews and use them to record final decisions

Each review you post includes an overall status plus any comments you want to add. If you request changes, you are required to leave a comment to provide context to the decision-making process. You can also leave comments without posting a review to discuss the work that’s open for feedback.

When you've finished a review, you can record decisions you've made to summarize the progress and create clarity for your team.

Any team member can comment in a notebook review. Only added reviewers can approve or request changes.

Find open reviews

Use the Reviews page in the left side navigation to keep track of the review requests in notebooks that are relevant to you. Use this area to track reviews you need from other team members and reviews that have been requested of you.

Your reviews are separated onto three tabs:

  • Requested shows all the notebooks that others have requested you to review.
  • My reviews shows all the notebook reviews you have opened for others to respond to
  • Completed shows all the reviews you requested or were added to that are now closed.

Leave a review

Once you're explored the notebook contents, you can leave a review.

To leave a review:

  1. In the left side navigation, click Reviews.
  2. Click the tile that includes the notebook review request you want to respond to.
  3. Read through the contents of the notebook. You can post comments on specific elements of the notebook before submitting your final review.
  4. Near the top of the page, under the Reviews heading, click the review block. The right sidebar  opens with the review details.
  5. Read the review title and description to understand why the requester wants feedback.
  6. Write a review for the notebook, including and explanation of why you're choosing to approve the work or request changes. You can also include your overall feedback on the notebook.
  7. Click Request Changes or Approve to submit your feedback. If you’re not ready to leave a review, you can also click Comment to respond without posting a review.

Change your review

While the work in a notebook progresses, you can change your review as often as needed until the review cycle is closed.

If you leave a review in error and don't want it on the record, you can delete it.

Only the person who wrote the review, the notebook creator, or an administrator can delete reviews.
